NEW PLAYERS START HERE!

The Sheridan County Soccer Association (SCSA) would like to welcome you to the world of club soccer. Since this may seem like a very big step for you and your child, we wanted to give you a little information about what to expect when you join one of the Sheridan Storm Soccer teams. Please read this information thoroughly.

The association will be hosting the Bighorn Mountain Cup tournament at the Big Horn Equestrian Center Mother’s Day weekend. Additional tournaments are scheduled and a list is included on our home page. Your registration fees cover this tournament's fees.

The registration fees for club soccer are minimal. Because all coaches and board members are volunteers, the fees are mainly for tournament fees for our set tournament schedule, referees for league games, and a state association fee. The fees also cover other incidental items such as field paint, replacement nets, balls and first aid kits are also covered under the registration fees. As with any other sport, there will be some expenses that each player will have to incur. Uniforms, socks, shin guards, cleats and entry fees into optional tournaments are expenses you should expect to pay for in addition to the registration fee. Even with all of the expenses above, Sheridan’s fees are actually among the lowest in the state.

You will be amazed at how much your child will improve from just one season of club soccer. Registration for the spring season takes place in February; watch the local newspaper and this website for updates. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask anyone in the association.

We are looking forward to having your child join our soccer program.
Photo: You will need to upload a CURRENT head and shoulders ONLY shot of your child at the time of registration. This is a very important step and one that should be done every year when you register. These photos go onto the State Soccer Player Cards that will be checked by tournament officials for eligibility so it's important that they are recognizable and close enough to see them as the photos will be small on their cards. Below are the requirements for photos. These photos will be pretty small on the player cards so a photo zoomed out with the full body WILL NOT WORK.

1. Head and shoulders - forward facing

2. Try to take the photo with good lighting if possible

3. No other people in the photos

4. No headwear like hats, sunglasses, etc.

5. Please make sure the photo is current

Birth Certificate: A photo or scan of your child’s birth certificate is needed at the time of registration. These are kept highly confidential in the gotsoccer program. They are needed in order to verify your child’s age for eligibility for competition in tournaments. Please see the Player Verification PDF (download button) for a complete step-by-step tutorial.

NOTE: If either of these items are not uploaded before the first tournament your child will not be eligible to play.

Payment: You can pay online for the season's fees or you can mail a check to: Sheridan County Soccer Association, PO Box 6755, Sheridan, WY 82801

NOTE: We expect payment in full prior to the first tournament unless prior arrangements have been made.
1. New Users - You will receive a registration link for the current season. This is the ONLY way to register is via the link sent. Once you click on the link you can click on "create new account" in the login screen and proceed through those steps.

2. Proceed through the registration steps to completion. You will be required to upload a copy of your player's birth certificate and photo in order to complete registration.

3. You can access all your player's within one login. Once they are added they will be there for the next registration. PLEASE do not create a new account each time you register! Write down your login information for next year.

5. For each player we require a headshot image to be uploaded - which is used for player cards that are checked before each tournament. Head and shoulders shot without hat is needed - if you don’t have a current one just snap one with your phone - drivers license style (head/shoulders ONLY). We also need a birth certificate uploaded to confirm eligibility for age brackets. A scan or phone photo is fine as long as it legible.

6. All Players must be registered by the closing date. Registrations received after this date will be accepted only by the approval of the Board as needed to fill out teams and subject to a late fee. We often arrange teams according to numbers and often teams are at max roster size. Payment MUST be made prior to the first tournament.
1. Our club will form teams after registration is closed by following our player placement policy. Please be aware there can be a fairly long time period if you registered early to when you hear from a coach. We typically start official practices mid-late March or the first of April. Your child will either be placed on teams according to the US Youth Soccer Birth Age Matrix or groups U12 and above will hold assessments prior to practices starting to form teams based on ability level.

2. We will also work to appoint coaches. All efforts are made to do this in a timely fashion however, each coach is required to complete and pass a state background check as well as concussion training. Team information will not be released to the coach until their background checks are cleared - this can sometimes take up to a week.

3. The coach will contact you about practice, team meetings, and game schedules at this point.

4. You will need to order you player's uniform (see uniform page for ordering information). You DO NOT need to know your player's number before you order a uniform. Storm will take care of assigning numbers. We have to make sure that we don't have duplicate numbers on a team and will make every effort to assign a number that will not conflict currently and in the future when age groups sometimes end up combined.

1. Click on the registration link. Do NOT create a new account – use your existing log-in credentials.

2. Log into your account and find your child you are wanting to register - click on their names and proceed to the registration you are signing up for.

3. Make sure you upload a CURRENT photo fo your child. Kids change a lot from year to year and we need to make sure the photos look like your child so we don't risk them not being able to play at a tournament because their player card's photo doesn't look like them.

4. At this point please make sure your contact info is up to date within your account.

5. The coach will contact you about practice, team meetings, and game schedules once the teams have been formed, coaches appointed and they have retained an approved background check. There can be a lag time in here especially if you registered early as there is a lot that happens in the background before the start of practices. Assessments for U12 and above generally start in mid-late March and regular practices generally start the beginning of April after spring breaks.

6. Registrations received after closing date will be accepted only by the approval of the Board as needed to fill out teams and subject to a late fee. We often arrange teams according to numbers and often teams are at max roster size. Payment MUST be made prior to the first tournament.

7. Order you player's uniform (see uniform page for ordering information). You DO NOT need to know your player's number when ordering. PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE JERSEY NUMBERS WITHOUT CHECKING WITH US FIRST. This is super important! We can often accommodate changes but you will need to email us at: scstormregistrar@gmail.com to confirm. We can't have duplicate player numbers on teams and will make every effort to assign a number that will not conflict now and in the future when age groups sometimes get combined.
